If you are thinking about creating paid courses and memberships, then take a look at Systeme. Systeme.io offers a free plan that includes a no-code website builder, but that’s just scratching the surface.
In Systeme, you can do all of the following for free
- Create email lists
- Send out newsletters
- Setup sales funnels
- Sell products
- Setup an affiliate program.
You can also run webinars, but you’ll need to be on their premium plan to do this.
The free plan is insanely generous too. You don’t need to pay a penny until you reach 2000 contacts, by which point it should be paying for itself.
Systeme is a direct competitor to Kajabi, a premium all-in-one course and membership platform that costs $199 per month.
Compare this to Systeme’s most expensive option comes in at $97 per month, and they have tiers in between that are equally as reasonable.
If you’re just getting started and want to create paid courses and memberships, Systeme gets my vote.
Wix – Simple to Use No-Code Website Builder
Wix is one of the stalwart no-code website builders. They’ve been around since 2006, so just after the big bang in interweb time.
But with time comes experience and a massive marketing budget. I’ll be shocked if you haven’t seen an advert from them.
If you want a simple, easy-to-use no-code website builder with plenty of templates and lots of support, Wix is a good bet.
They offer an app marketplace that allows you to add more complex features as you grow; many of them are free. But be aware that there will be limitations as everything rests within the Wix ecosystem.
It’s easy to set up a blog with Wix, and you can even put your best content behind a paywall, similar to Ghost.org, for a premium member experience.
Squarespace – No-Code Website Builder With Lots of Templates
Squarespace is another no-code website builder that’s been around since the dawn of time.
Their template and block builder system ensures that you stick within fundamental design principles. (this is good). However, it can be frustrating if you want complete control over the design (this is bad).
With Squarespace, you can create membership sites and offer paid content in much the same way as Wix and Ghost, which is ideal for generating income as your audience grows.
Be aware that you will pay additional monthly fees for lots of add-ons, like more video storage, email marketing, eCommerce and more.
That said, the prices are comparable to standalone products that you would pay for elsewhere, so don’t let that put you off too much.
We’re getting into the slightly more technical no-code website builders from here.
With the following suggestions, there will be a steeper learning curve to get up and running. But don’t be scared. With a bit of effort, you can take advantage of greater functionality. To coin a phrase from Braveheart, this means “FREEDOM”.
WordPress.org – Open Source No-Code Blogging Platform
I wanted to add that statistic that everyone seems to reference when they suggest using WordPress, but after wasting an hour of my life that I’ll never get back, I discovered there isn’t an official number.
68%, 49%, 37%, a lot of websites are built using WordPress. Basically, it’s very popular.
WordPress started as an open-source blogging platform. It’s fully customisable through the use of plugins. You can get a plugin for almost anything you want to do, even write your content for you (seriously).
With millions of websites using WordPress, the number of contributors to the ecosystem is enormous. Think of something you want your website to do, and the chances are there’s a plugin to make it happen.
- Want to create comparison tables? There’s a plugin for that
- Want a drag-and-drop editor? There’s a plugin for that
- Want to ensure you’ve optimised every aspect for SEO? There’s a plugin for that
- Want to create beautiful subscriber opt-in pop-ups? There’s a plugin for that
Customisation is WordPress’s biggest strength, which means you can achieve a lot with it.
Many of the top plugins offer a free version. However, after using them for a while, you’ll probably want to go for the premium version, and this can get expensive, as most now require an annual license.
If you opt for WordPress, choose a hosting service that specialises in WordPress sites and offers automatic installation.
Bluehost is excellent and usually provides a steep discount on your first year of hosting.
Dreamhost and Siteground are also excellent choices.
Webflow – No-Code Website Builder Focussing on Design
Webflow is for all the aspiring designers out there. If you’ve tried Vev but want more functionality or even a CMS to add some structure, look into Webflow.
At its heart, web flow is a no-code website design application. Its focus is on beauty and function. Its header proudly reads:
“The site you want — without the dev time” I can get behind that!
There is a learning curve when you get started. You’ll want to be familiar with CSS or learn it whilst getting to grips with the tool. Here’s a great free course if you want to learn the basics.
Where Weblfow excels is with its teaching materials. Webflow university is jam-packed with lessons, taking you right through from the basics to the pro level.
Most of these lessons have both video and written instructions, so it’s easy to follow along and learn by doing.
You can get started with Weblfow for free. This is perfect for following the lessons whilst you’re building.
The free plan includes hosting on their subdomain, but you can migrate onto a paid plan at any time for $14 per month.
Softr – No-Code Website Builder for Airtable
Want to create a listing website or resource directory? Then look no further than Softr
Softr lets you develop websites directly from Airtable without any use of code. Let me fill you in if you don’t know about Airtable.
Airtable is a no-code database builder that allows you to manage content and processes.
To use Softr, you’ll need to learn how to use Airtable first, but it’s pretty intuitive. You can start with their Airtable basics guide.
To keep things simple, let’s say you run a book club and have a list of books you have read and want to read. You can add all the data into a database on Airtable for members to access. Your database could also show ratings, notes and your current progress.
Airtable is great for storing data, but it’s not great at making it look like a website.
Softr takes that data and transforms it into something much more functional and aesthetically pleasing. You can create member pages, profiles and even accept payments.
With Softr, you could have your book club looking slick and website-ready in no time.
Softr offers a free plan to get started. It allows 200 records from Airtable, and five members, which at the time of writing is four more than I need for my book club.
Popsy – No-Code Website Builder that Works Like Notion
If you like Notion (I’m a super fan), then you’ll love Popsy because it’s a no-code website builder that works in a similar way to Notion.
Press / for blocks, add them in and create your content.

Creating a site in Popsy is not only fast, it’s reasonably priced too. You can create for free and only pay when you want to publish it on a custom domain.
Super – Create Websites from Notion Without Code
Sticking with the Notion theme, I present to you Super.so, a one-stop no-code website builder that converts your content from Notion directly into a website.
I use Notion to store all my notes and useful websites I discover daily while researching. Here’s an example of Useful web design sites I’ve collected on my travels.
Using Super, I can convert all that data into a website in minutes rather than days or even weeks.

Simple.ink is, you guessed it, a no-code website builder that converts content from (you guessed it) Notion to a website.
It works in much the same way as Super.so and Potion.so and boasts that you can turn your Notion content into a website in less than a minute.

Potion.so is another Notion-to-website builder. It offers a similar service to super.so.
There isn’t a free option (although you can grab a free trial). Pricing is slightly cheaper than Super.so at just $8 per month on a yearly plan.
Potion.so also plays nice with other apps you want to integrate.
You can integrate with Google Analytics, Mailchimp and many more.
Want to sell a product on your Potion website? No problem, you can easily integrate using Flurly.
There are also plenty of video guides, so if you already use Notion and have content ready to go, Potion is worth investigating.
Sheet2site – Turn Your Spreadsheets Into a Website Without Code
If you love spreadsheets (quite a niche interest, I know) and, more specifically, Google Sheets then I guess you’ll love Sheet2site.
This innovative SAAS product allows you to input data into a templated spreadsheet and then convert it into a website without using a single line of code.
I don’t pretend to be a spreadsheet expert in any way, shape or form, the sum formula is the extent of my knowledge in this field, and I usually manage to screw that up.
But if you know how to set up formulas and rules, then sheet2site will seem very intuitive. Major brands like Deliveroo and Freetrade use it, so they must be doing a lot right.
Maybe you don’t want to use sheet2site to build your entire website. That’s no problem; you can use it to perform a particular function and sit it on a subdomain or folder.
Sheet2sites is particularly useful if you want to quickly add a resource directory, voting hub or a list of events.
Simply download the template, fill out the info and then apply it to a folder.
Glide – No-Code Solution for Turning Spreadsheets Into Apps
Creating a website from a spreadsheet is pretty awesome, but what happens if you want to create an app from a spreadsheet? Surely it can’t be done?
I’m pleased to tell you that it can!
Enter Glide, the no-code App builder that takes your plain Jane ( sorry Jane) spreadsheet and turns it into a glorious mobile app.
